Wyndham Grand Hotel, Athens

With a range of hotels to choose from throughout your travels, Hellenic Travel Network recommend the Wyndham Grand or Athens Plaza as the ideal luxury base in Athens for a 3-night stay from which to discover all the best monuments including the Panathenaic Stadium, the former Royal Palace, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, Parliament, Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, University, the National Library and the Constitution Square, ending with a visit to the Acropolis and the New Acropolis Museum.

While Hellenic can adapt to any particular travel desires, including the much smaller and lesser known islands such as Lemnos, Ikaria, Ammouliani, Meganisi and Kythnos, the ‘Immortal Aradne’ experience is designed for its diversity of landscape, architecture, beaches and points of interest. An eight-hour ferry ride from Piraeus port sails you to the breath-taking island of Santorini and a recommended stay at the luxury Aressana Spa Hotel in the white-washed town of Fira where there’s time to relax and explore the narrow streets and cafes that cling to a steep cliff accessible by cable car or mule, as well as some exciting outings such as a half-day boat trip to Nea Kameni, the remaining active part of the volcano that created the famous Santorini caldera. Next island hop is to Naxos and a recommended stay at the charming Naxos Palace Hotel with the opportunity to visit one of the many nearby archaeological excavations as well as exploring the island and its stunning beaches. The final island hop is for two nights on Paros at the recommended Paros Agnanti built in Cycladic architectural style and located at the entrance of the gulf of Parikia, offering its guests panoramic views of the sea and just 80 metres away from the famous beaches of "Krios" and “Marcello”. The next day guests are at leisure to explore Paros which is an island with exquisite sandy beaches graced with crystal waters, traditional villages with whitewashed cubic houses in narrow paved alleys contrasted with many bougainvillea and lovely chapels. Paros was formerly renowned for its fine marble. After a thoroughly relaxing and fulfilling voyage around the islands it’s time to return to Athens by ferry the next day for an overnight stay before flying home well rested.
