DAY 1 – Mexico City
Arrive at Mexico City International Airport and transfer to hotel Plaza Florencia or similar.
DAY 2 – Mexico City / Queretaro / San Miguel de Allende (290 km)
Depart early for a city tour of Queretaro, the capital of the state of Queretaro and of great strategic importance during the Independence Wars. After a one-hour drive to reach San Miguel de Allende, enjoy exploring this colonial city with its beautiful mansions and its main symbol; the Gothic style cathedral. Stay overnight at the Hotel Real de Minas or similar.
DAY 3 – San Miguel de Allende / Guanajuato (94 km)
Depart for Dolores Hidalgo and on to Guanajuato, an hour’s drive away, to admire the highlights of this city including the Basílica, the University, the historic centre with its narrow colonial roads, the underground streets (former riverbeds), the famous Callejón del Beso (The Alley of the Kiss) and enjoy a panoramic view from the El Pipila monument.
Overnight stay at the Hotel Misión Guanajuato or similar.
DAY 4 – Guanajuato / Zacatecas (310 km)
Depart for Zacatecas for a visit to the historical centre and cathedral, one of the pearls of Mexican baroque architecture which was built of rose stone during the 18th century.
Visit the Plaza de Las Armas then the Cerro de la Bufa hill offering a fantastic panoramic view of the city and the Mine of Edén. Stay at the Hotel Emporio or similar overnight.
DAY 5 – Zacatecas / Guadalajara (362 km)
In the morning, enjoy a scenic drive to Guadalajara, stopping on the way to visit the neighbourhood of Tlaquepaque, famous for manufacturing the finest handicrafts of the state. Visit the region of San Pedro Tlaquepaque, once an independent village and now a part of the city, whose inhabitants are dedicated to glass-blowing and a variety of arts and crafts. There are excellent holiday souvenirs here. Stay at the Hotel Morales or similar.
DAY 6 – Guadalajara
Visit the historical centre, including the Teatro Degollado, the Palacio de Gobierno, the Cathedral, the Rotonda de los Hombres Ilustres monument (Rotunda of Illustrious Men) and a panoramic visit of the Hospicio Cabañas.
Depart for the Tequila region, home of the ancient and famous Mexican alcoholic drink. At the Tequila village, watch a demonstration of the whole manufacturing process in one of the best Tequila distilleries. Return to Guadalajara.
DAY 7 – Guadalajara / Puerto Vallarta (310 km)
Transfer to the bus station for deluxe coach to Puerto Vallarta where you spend 2 nights at the Krystal Vallarta hotel.
DAY 8 – Puerto Vallarta
Day at leisure in Puerto Vallarta.
DAY 9 – Puerto Vallarta
Transfer to Puerto Vallarta International Airport.
