DAY 1

Copenhagen to Marrakech

Flight time 3:40 hours

Board the flight at Copenhagen. The two tour managers will welcome the guests to the airport and introduce the crew of this private jet. Enjoy a drink and lunch on board. In the afternoon, arrive in Marrakech. Enjoy the sunset in the desert near Marrakech, followed by a special dinner at the hotel. Stay two nights at the Selman Palace Hotel. The 55 exclusive, spacious rooms and suites are decorated in Arabic-Andalusian style and have a large terrace or balcony, to relax and enjoy the view of the mighty Atlas Mountains. The suites offer a personal butler service. In the centre of the 15 hectare garden is an 80-metre-long pool, a perfect place for rest and relaxation.

 

DAY 2

Marrakech and the Atlas Mountains

Enjoy an excursion through the beautiful surroundings of Marrakech. Meet a Berber family, who are the hosts for a unique lunch. In the afternoon, join a cookery class or enjoy a massage in the hammam. Later, see the colourful Medina and enjoy a special dinner at a local restaurant.

DAY 3

Marrakech to São Tomé

Flight time 5:20 hours

After breakfast, leave Marrakech. Lunch is served during the flight before arrival at the undiscovered jewel known as São Tomé and Príncipe. The island, at different times a colony of the Netherlands, Denmark and Portugal, has been an independent republic since 1975.

Stay overnight in the Pestana São Tomé, located on the beach. Enjoy a city tour, inspect the museum and fort, then end the day with dinner in the unique setting of the museum.

 

DAY 4

São Tomé to Cape Town

Flight time 5:30 hours

In the morning, explore the city of São Tomé. The most important buildings in the country are located in this city, including the presidential palace, the cathedral and the parliament building.

The next destination is Cape Town. Nestled at the foot of Table Mountain, Cape Town is a beautiful city. Nearby are unique must-sees, including the Cape of Good Hope and the penguin colony at Simon’s Town. An evening ride to Signal Hill provides a breath-taking view of the twinkling lights of Cape Town and the silhouette of Table Mountain. Stay three nights at the beautiful Cape Grace Hotel, offering boutique accommodation with world-class standards.

DAY 5

Wine Valley


Be driven in a classic car to the famous wine region of South Africa. A cup of coffee will be waiting at the magnificent Babylonstoren estate. Enjoy a guided tour of this very special vineyard before lunch, then after lunch there is another wine cellar to visit. Return to the hotel and relax for the rest of the day. If the weather permits, take the cable car to the top of the mighty Table Mountain and enjoy the spectacular views over Cape Town, Table Bay and Robben Island.

Early in the evening, visit one of the top restaurants in Cape Town for dinner.

 

DAY 6

Helicopter over the Cape Peninsula

After breakfast, experience a helicopter flight over the Cape Peninsula. Fly along the rugged coast overlooking the beautiful bays and mountains. After this, there is a choice between an excursion to explore Cape Town or go off on your own visiting Robben Island, Cape Point or Table Mountain. Lunch is available at the hotel.

Dinner is served in a unique African restaurant, with special dishes from the African and Cape Malay cuisine.

DAY 7

Rovos Rail “Pride of Africa

Spend the next three days enjoying the romantic luxury of the past while passing through the varied landscapes of South Africa. The Pride of Africa is the most luxurious train in the southern hemisphere. Lunch and dinner are served in two beautifully restored restaurant carriages. The observation car with open rear deck is the most popular place in the train. Seated in comfortable armchairs and sofas, look out through the large panoramic windows as the imposing African landscape glides by. To preserve the nostalgic atmosphere, there is no television or radio aboard the Pride of Africa.

Stay onboard the “Pride of Africa” for two nights in a deluxe compartment with bathroom.

 

DAY 8

Historic Kimberley

Enjoy breakfast in the restaurant carriage, while the Pride of Africa passes by the panoramic views of the Karoo desert. After lunch, arrive in Kimberley, famous for the diamond rush which reached its peak at the end of the 19th century. After the discovery of the first diamonds, a city grew up around the huge mine that became known as The Big Hole. Almost 15 million diamonds have been mined from The Big Hole.

On departure from Kimberley, tea is served in the lounge and observation cars. Savour dinner in the beautifully restored restaurant cars.

DAY 9

From train to safari

While enjoying breakfast, the train arrives near Johannesburg. Buses are waiting here to take the guests to Johannesburg Airport, where they will fly on a smaller plane to Nelspruit. From there, they transfer to the lodge at the Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve to spend two nights at the 5 star Private Game Lodge. (The group may stay in different lodges.) The reserve is right next to the world-famous Kruger National Park. Enjoy lunch at the lodge. In the afternoon, go on safari in open Land Rovers. See the big five: lion, elephant, buffalo, leopard and rhino while “hunting” with your camera! Enjoy a beautiful sunset in the bush. Now is the best time to spot the nocturnal animals. The cats come out to hunt and the ranger will try to track them. Enjoy a delicious dinner by the campfire under the African starlit sky.

 

DAY 10

Sabi Sand Private Game Reserve

Wake early for coffee or tea before getting into a Land Rover again to go on safari. Experience how nature slowly awakens and prepares for a new day. Breakfast is prepared and enjoyed in the bush, surrounded by all the sights and smells of the bush. Return to the lodge after breakfast.

The rest of the day is free to enjoy the pool or relax on the porch while spotting the animals passing by. There is also a spa, or guests can take a walk in the bush with the ranger, a unique experience!

In the evening, dine in the ‘boma’ at the lodge.

DAY 11

Nelspruit to Victoria Falls

Flight time 1:30 hours

Wake early for one last game drive. Return to the lodge for breakfast. There is a transfer back to Nelspruit where the aircraft and crew are waiting. Enjoy lunch while flying to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe. Stay overnight at the Victoria Falls Hotel with the mighty waterfall in its backyard. The hotel is one of the oldest in Africa, steeped in over 110 years of fascinating history. The interior is suffused with the grandeur of the past, Edwardian style. It has three restaurants, including the chic Livingstone Room, which has won many prestigious awards for its culinary performance, style and atmosphere. A walk along the idyllic private pathway from the hotel to Victoria Falls takes just 10 minutes. Enjoy dinner in the hotel.

 

DAY 12

Zambezi

Today explore the waterfalls in the most spectacular way. First, take a walk along the falls with an expert guide. Then, take a helicopter flight over the falls. The enormous power of Victoria Falls is an impressive sight from any perspective, but a helicopter ride can truly capture the majesty of the falls. The light of the sun and the spraying of the water create a beautiful array of colours. In the afternoon, take a sunset cruise on the mighty Zambezi River. Enjoy a drink admiring the beauty of the flora and fauna. For guests who prefer, a trip to Botswana can be arranged. After a drive to the border and the immigration formalities, travel to the Chobe River for a boat ride. Return via the Chobe National Park, which is a natural habitat for elephants. Dinner will be served in the impressive Livingstone Room at the hotel.

DAY 13

Victoria Falls to Zanzibar

Flight time 2:55 hours

After breakfast, there is a transfer for the flight to Zanzibar. Arrive on this exotic island early in the afternoon. After checking in, relax on this paradise. The Zanzibar coastline consists of white sandy beaches and clear blue water. The waters surrounding the island are excellent for diving and snorkelling due to the many colourful reefs. Besides the planned excursions, there is also plenty of opportunity to enjoy the resort, the beach and the ocean. Stay for two nights at the Residence Resort.

 

DAY 14

Zanzibar

Get to know Zanzibar. See colourful local markets while the guide talks about the spice trade. Visit a plantation. Zanzibar is famous for its tropical fruits such as jackfruit, pineapple and green coconut. Visit Stone Town, the old part of the capital. See the varied architectural styles and experience the influence of the Persians, Arabs, Portuguese and Africans who traded here in the past.

DAY 15

Zanzibar to Muscat

Flight time 5:30 hours

After breakfast, leave for a flight to Oman. Muscat, once a quiet fishing town, has evolved into a bustling city. The country has more than six hundred castles, forts, deserted ghost towns and fascinating relics, with day to day life going on around them. The capital Muscat, also known as the “White City”, is characterised by its many white buildings, gates, labyrinth of streets and cosy restaurants. The Grand Mosque with its magnificent prayer hall is an essential visit.

Accommodation: 2 nights at the Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa.

 

DAY 16

Omani desert

Experience the Omani desert. Be driven through the impressive landscape in SUVs. A locally-inspired lunch will be served in the middle of the desert. Return to the resort for the last dinner of the air cruise, which will be served on the beach.

DAY 17

Muscat to Copenhagen

Flight time 8:00 hours

After breakfast, transfer to the airport. Along the way, visit the famous Amouage perfume factory. The crew will be waiting to fly back to Copenhagen in the private jet. Dinner will be served on board, with arrival to Copenhagen at approximately 9:00 p.m.

 

The air cruise includes:

Business class seat on a Boeing 737-500 or Boeing 737-700 for the whole duration of the itinerary departing and returning to London

All meals and drinks on board the plane including spirits and champagne

All accommodation based on double occupancy. Single occupancy is available with a supplement. A limited number of upgrades are available at additional cost at some destinations and can be purchased on a first-come, first-served basis.

All transfers between accommodation, airports and excursions

All meals including drinks (Local beer and wine at all lunches and dinners)

All excursions with local English-speaking guide, entrance fees and bottled water

Luggage handling service is provided, however, because of security regulations this service may be limited.
